Operation Sindoor

On  22 April 2025, some Pakistani terrorists belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out a huge attack on the Phalgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, where they killed 26 people, including one national of Nepal. This started a war between India and Pakistan. The attack was driven by the goal of undermining the normalcy returning to Jammu and Kashmir. After the attack, the government of India responded with a set of initial measures relating to our engagement with Pakistan.

The Indian military launched multiple missile attacks targeting sites in pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir in an attack called Operation Sindoor. According to Lieutenant Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, director general of Pakistan’s military’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) media wing, at least 31 Pakistanis have been killed in the six targeted cities. India claims it struck nine sites.

An armed group called The Resistance Front (TRF), which demands independence for Kashmir, claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam attack. India claims that the TRF is an offshoot of the Pakistan-based armed group, the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Islamabad has denied its involvement in the Pahalgam attack and has asked for a neutral investigation into the incident.

Reason for Visit

The BJP is trying to test its strength in North Bengal before the 26th elections. And the success of Operation Sindoor is going to be the BJP’s tool in this. Meanwhile, Ghasful has snatched the seat won by the BJP in the Madarihat assembly by-election a few days ago. In the meantime, John Barla, known as the skilled organizer of the BJP in North Bengal, has changed sides and joined the Trinamool. In this atmosphere, the Prime Minister’s meeting in Alipurduar is considered to be quite significant.

Examination of the Field by MP Manoj Tigga

Before the official announcement of the visit to Alipurduar on Tuesday afternoon, Tigga, along with a group of local BJP leaders, examined the parade ground. This created confusion. But everything got clear after MP Manoj Tigga clarified the entire matter and told them everything. He said, “The Prime Minister will hold a public rally in North Bengal on May 29 to honor the army after the success of Operation Sindoor. That is why we came to see the field. We have investigated all the places where the stage can be set up.” Following the Operation Sindoor campaign, Manoj stated that the prime minister is holding public meetings across the nation. As part of that program, he will hold a meeting in Alipurduar, North Bengal.
